The soaring of Hazel Stewart's fiddle leads this outstanding collection of Scottish tunes. Hazel, born in Elgin, Scotland, represents her family's third generation of fiddlers and plays with the sureness of one born to the tradition. She was the 1984 Northeastern U.S. Scottish Fiddling Champion. With the ensemble Thistledown, Hazel won a wide following at the Old Songs Festival in Altamont, New York, the Celtic Festival at Hunter Mountain, New York, and at Scottish gathering throughout the Northeast. Hills of Lorne is an overwhelming favorite at Celtic specialty shops and gift stores across the country.
